Expandable hoses are a great option for those who want the convenience of a hose without the hassle of trying to coil it up when you're finished. But can they be used with a reel?
The short answer is yes, but there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind. Firstly, make sure that the reel you choose has a quick connector fitting. Secondly, pay attention to the size of the reel - expandable hoses take up less room than traditional hoses, so your reel only needs to accommodate 1/3rd of the length you are purchasing (since it will be contracted when you reel it in). For example, if you purchase a 150ft/45m hose, then the reel only needs to be for a 50ft/15m length.
With these considerations in mind, you'll be able to enjoy the benefits of an expandable hose while still keeping your garden tidy and organized.
